Veronica
LaVery from Los Angeles, California
Where did you grow up?
I was born and raised in Czech Republic, lived in a small town in the mountains
called, Vrchlabi, for 17 yrs.
How was it growing up
there, would you say that it influenced you?
I consider myself
lucky growing up in a small town, surrounded by nature and genuine people made
me a down to earth kind of person who appreciates small things. I didn't have
much while I was growing up, so I'm really grateful for everything that's
coming my way these days.
When did you start
getting tattoos?
I got them all within
a few months after I turned 18, I was sooo impulsive and silly, seriously.
How would you describe
your style?
Edgy, fun, classy,
sexy and creative.
Do you consider
tattoos as a serious art form?
Umm...
How do you see the
tattoo culture right now?
A lot of people regret
their tattoos later on, I hope this will influence the future generations and
they won't be getting anything.
What has been your
inspiration for getting them?
My best friend Gabi and
I got a cupcake and ice cream tattoo as a symbol of friendship when she was
visiting California in 2009. From that I sort of wanted to keep the same sweet
theme and just continued getting more “candy land” type of tattoos.
What’s your favorite
piece?
My favorite tattoo is
maybe the cupcake on the back of my neck.
Do you catch people
starring at you because of your ink?
Not just because of my
ink.
In your opinion, do
your tattoos change your mood often?
My smiling ice cream
cone above my butt makes me laugh and the rest of my tattoos make me smile in
general just by looking at them. I can't imagine having something gloomy and
scary tattooed on me, I think it would make me feel depressed 24/7.
What’s your most
significant tattoo and why?
My shoulder piece
might be the most known tattoo that I have, its positioning and theme is just
original. It's my signature piece.
What advice would you
give to someone wanting to get their first tattoo?
I'd honestly tell
everyone not to get any. People change, if I could go back, I'd never get any.
Will you be getting
anymore?
Not planning on it at
all.
What’s your biggest
inspiration, what keeps you going?
The feeling of
accomplishment and progress feels just too good to just sit back and “go with
the flow.” I'm all about adventure and taking the risks, I hate feeling bored
or “stuck”, so I just have to keep doing new things. Busy Veronica is a happy
Veronica.
What is one thing that
life has taught you?
A few years back I'd
never think I'd be doing what I'm doing today; life is full of surprises and
it's all about the choices you make and how well you use the opportunities that
life gives you.
Do you have a favorite
quote?
“Don't judge a book by
its cover.”
