Marilyn Mongo
from Munich, Germany
Where did you grow up?
Germany, in a very small village in the
south of Bavaria.
How was it growing up there, would you
say that it influenced you?
Let me put it like this, I had a great
childhood there. It’s a perfect place to grow up.
When did you start getting tattoos?
When I went to Munich, I think it was
2006.
How would you describe your style?
Hmmm..... I think I don’t have a special
style. I do all, what I think of.
Do you consider tattoos as a serious art
form?
Absolutely!!!!
How do you see the tattoo culture right
now?
It has changed completely. There are so
many different tattoo art styles and amazing artists.
What has been your inspiration for
getting them?
I think it underlines what I am.
What’s your favorite piece?
I love all my tattoos, so it’s hard for
me to say one of these is my favorite. Therefore, I say it’s the puzzle-tattoo
on my costal, it belongs to my boyfriend and me.
Do you catch people starring at you
because of your ink?
Oh yes!
In your opinion, do your tattoos change
your mood often?
When I get a new one, yes.
What’s your most significant tattoo and
why?
The pieces of puzzle on my costal and
the tattoo with my best friend.
What advice would you give to someone
wanting to get their first tattoo?
What tattoo style do you want? Does your
work allow tattoos?
Check out more studios and inform yourself
on the quality of the tattoos. Check the hygienic too. Think twice, a tattoo is
forever.
Will you be getting anymore?
Yes, at the moment I get an comic owl on
my right arm.
What’s your biggest inspiration, what
keeps you going?
That I want to be a complete artwork and
there is still a lot of naked skin.
Do you have a favorite quote?
“Imperfection is beauty, madness is
genius and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.”
― Marilyn Monroe.
