Alex Cupcakee from
Miami, FL
Where did you grow up?
Born and raised in Miami.
How was it growing up there,
would you say that it influenced you?
Growing up in Miami was a lot of fun it's definitely a party
city and I enjoyed it when I was younger! I think growing up here exposed me to
difference cultures and made me more open minded.
When did you start getting
tattoos?
I
got my first tattoo at 22 so only two years ago, I have a lot more work
planned!
How would you describe your
style?
My
style is very laid back I like to be comfy! As far as my tattoo style I'm
really into traditional pieces all my tattoos are traditional, but my sleeve
will be different.
Do you consider tattoos as a
serious art form?
I do! I think tattoos are beautiful and every artist had a
different style to it and can express themselves differently on every
canvas!
How do you see the tattoo
culture right now?
I think the tattoo community is growing and quickly. Tattoos are
becoming more common and with that more acceptable and I think that's awesome.
What has been your
inspiration for getting them?
I
don't know it I ever had an inspiration for wanting to get a tattoo. I just
always knew I would be one of those girls.
What’s your favorite piece?
My
favorite piece right now is my thigh piece, but my favorite is always the new
one.
Do you catch people starring
at you because of your ink?
When
I wear shorts people are always staring at my leg but in a good way. I get a lot
of positive feedback on it. Which I love!
What’s your most significant
tattoo and why?
My
most significant tattoo is my lotus flower, which was my first tattoo. It symbolizes
my struggle to find myself. I will never forget the feelings I was feeling at
the time and it's such an important reminder to me to always be kind to
myself.
What advice would you give to
someone wanting to get their first tattoo?
My
advice is always the same! Think it through first and look into the artist thoroughly look at their work, talk to people the artist has tattooed before. I
always feel very confident in the person that's tattooing me and that's how it
should be.
Will you be getting anymore?
I
am most certainly getting more, I don't know if there will ever be a day that I
would say I'm done getting tattoos.
What’s your biggest
inspiration, what keeps you going?
My
biggest inspiration is my dad has always been and will always be, the most
amazing man I know.
What is one thing that life
has taught you?
Life
has taught me to never give up!
Do you have a favorite quote?
My
favorite quotes are, "this too shall pass" and "what doesn't kill
you makes you stronger", will probably have one of the two tattooed at some
point.
Anything else you would like
to add?
Just
want to say thank you for having me!
