Katie Hollow from Ontario, Canada
Where did you grow up?
My
name is Katie Hollow and I hail from southern Ontario’s green belt, born in
Niagara Falls (little Vegas) I have travelled and lived across Canada returning
home to my regional roots. I now work out of studio 4 tattoo parlor, in
downtown St. Catharines.
When did you start getting
tattoos?
I
started getting tattooed too young, I worked at a tattoo shop in high school,
which prepared me for my future career and relationship with the tattoo
industry. One of my first ever tattoos is script on my wrists that say
"once upon a time..." "...they lived happily ever after"
and it sums up my approach to life pretty perfectly.
How would you describe your
style?
My
style is a little pastel Goth, and a little Druid priestess. I like old occultly
and eclectic things.
Do you consider tattoos as a
serious art form?
Tattoos
are definitely a serious art form! You can have anything almost now a days with
the wonderful skilled artists available around the world, the typical tattoo
has been left behind and now patrons are beginning to favor tattoos that
look more like paintings or photos, less flash, more real in depth pieces.
What has been your
inspiration for getting them?
My
inspiration for most of my tattoos are my own nostalgia and happy thoughts.
Culture and movies that impacted me growing up. My favorite horror stories and
obscure interest.
What’s your favorite piece?
I
can't say I have a favorite tattoo, I love all of my tattoos they're ask
equally a part of me.
Do you catch people staring
at you because of your ink?
I
often find myself the center of attention on the street. I wear what I like and
what makes an impact. Usually it's outlandish and unique. Being very tattooed
has become a conversation in itself. I plan on being covered and do consider
face tattoos an option
Do you have a favorite quote?
My motto in life would have
to be “not all who wander are lost” or the infamous tool line "peace, love
and empathy.” One day I will change the world. You can expect it from me.Photo Credits:
